When two geographical locations are so close to one another, people expect for them to not have a lot of differences. However, Mexico and the United States do carry out many differences. They do in fact have similarities but they are unique from one another. Especially, when it come to their military culture. They do however, help one another out. The United States and Mexico’s military culture include similarities and differences within their training, uniform, strategy, weapons, technology, and military branches. Military training varies between Mexico and the United States. The United States basic training is known as boot camp.
It is a program of physical and mental training. It is a requirement needed in order to become a United States soldier. It is intended to be very hard and challenging for the soldiers. The training is divided into two parts which consist of basic combat training and advanced individual training. Basic combat training consists of the 1st ten weeks of the training. The advanced individual training consists of the remaining period. This is where recruits train each soldier for their specific field. In contrast to the United States military, in Mexico, most of the soldiers are poor and indecent.
It is very easy to get into the Mexican military. The United States has expanded its training to the Mexican armed forces. They did this to help the military in Mexico and for it to become better as a whole. Along with the FBI and the CIA, the pentagon is also trying to help increase the Mexican military by increasing training programs and arms sales. The training was expanded due to the amount of Mexican armed forces that have been drawn into drugs and organized crime. In both military cultures you have to be at least eighteen years old to begin training.
Mexico’s military uniforms are different than the United States uniforms. Mexico’s uniforms include an olive green camouflage. The army officer corps uses a blue dress uniform a dark green serviced uniform. The master sergeant is recognized by green epaulets with three horizontal red bars. The air force wears a plain green epaulet. Any naval enlisted are recognized by wearing white stripes about the sleeve cuff. The United States Army uses a flame resistant uniform which includes two patterns. The Marine Corps use woodland and desert variants. The navy uses a multiple pocket shirt and trousers with multiple colors.
Overall, blue reflects the Navy’s heritage. The Air-Force use camouflage. The Coast guard use a plain blue normal work uniform. The MultiCam is used by the United States Army and ground United States Air Force. A similarity in their uniforms would be camouflage which is a universal pattern. They both give each branch a certain indication of either color or shape. They all have their own uniforms and regulation regarding them. Mexico and the United States have different military strategies overall. However, their ways of trying to accomplish them is what they have in common.
The United States military strategy is issued by the chairman of the Joints Chiefs of staff. It is deliverable to the Secretary of Defense, it outlines the aims and goals of the armed services. The Armed Forces conduct military operations to accomplish the specified needs. The President’s National Security Strategy helps accomplish their objectives. The United States uses “hybrid war” tactics to forward presence to counter sudden threats. The US also uses small unit tactics such as basic drills, contact drills, immediate ambush drills, and counter ambush drills.
Defensive tactics is another strategy the United States military uses. It includes fire trap, ambush, booby traps; minefields, trench warfare, and rapid reaction forces. Mexico was close to becoming a failed state due to the effects of the cartels in the country. However, it stabilized itself. The Mexico military relies on militarized security forces. It also, sold two thousand Humvees and rearranged to 18 Blackhawks for their helicopter fleet. The Mexican military lacked a professional officer corps and its army was in great want of more resources.
The Mexican had short range weapons that were very outdated and most of their soldiers shot their weapons for the first time in battle. Another strategy the military uses is called Dragoon. It includes soldiers being trained to fight on foot but got trained in horseback riding and on combat. They both work together to become better overall. The United States military really helps the Mexican military with existing issues. An important comparison between Mexico’s and United States military culture are the different aspects of the weapons they use. For example, the Mexican Navy, use different American assault rifles such as the AR-15.
It is an efficient and light weapon. It has many versions. The Mexican Army uses many different tanks such as the Leopard 2. The Leopard 2 also have many versions and is one of the newest weapons. The Mexican army has air-attack forces which belong to the air force. Fx-05 Xiuhcoatl is a Mexican assault rifle and is also used by the Mexican military. Many of the weapons used by the Mexican army are made in USA. In contrast to the Mexican army the American Army uses a wide variety of military weapons. The American Army uses many different tanks such as Challenger 2 FV4034.
An important difference is the quantity of the weapons and military vehicles that each Army owns. The M16 is a weapon used by both the Mexican and the American Army. The United States armed forces have had to change their weapons and military devices constantly in order to keep fighting against their enemies. Both armies have some similar arms and gear. However, there are some differences in the development of both. Many technological advances are occurring in the military culture. In the United States the Air Force is turning old F-16 fighters into drones. The older fighters are becoming target practices for new generations.
The United States is testing rifles that correct your aim. This technological advancement is improving soldiers aim dramatically. Drones are coming by land, air and sea. The making of their weapons such as the MQ9 Reaper Drone, the Laser Avenger and the ADAPTIV cloaking, AA12 shotgun, PHASR rifle, and the XM2010 sniper rifle all give the United States military many advantages over other battlefields. Mexico’s Secretariat of Defense plans to move into aeronautics development and manufacturing with the technological advances. The Mexican military produced its own aircraft in the 20th century.
A lot of Mexico’s technology advances comes from the United States replacing existing systems that averaged 30 to 40 years old and drained their budget. Mexico and United States have different military branches. Mexico’s military branches consists of Secretariat of National Defense, the Army, Mexican Air Force, Secretariat of the Navy, Mexican Navy includes Naval Air Force and the Mexican Naval Infantry Corps. While the United States military branches consists of United States Armed Forces such as the United States Army, United States Navy which includes Marine Corps, United States Air Force, and the United States Coast Guard.
Although Mexico and United States have different military branches they both have a variety of branches and jobs for each and every one of the branches. Some are indeed performing the same duty. Mexico’s and The United States military culture have many things in common. As well as, many differences within their military. Overall, the United States military culture is more advanced and well developed. Even though the two countries are right next to each other they do not have everything the same. Similarities and differences within their military culture revolve around training, uniforms, strategies, weapons, technology, and military branches.
