Escape from the Zombie Apocalypse Have you ever felt that your days has come and that it time for you to give up on your life and people that truly mean the world for you? An intense feeling that you wish you will never experience again. I have always considered myself as a brave and courageous individual. On May 5th, as I woke up from a wonderful sleep, I found that my house has been invaded by monstrous creature know as Zombies. They were over the fence of my backyard and I still needed to gather some important material before sneaking off my navigator.
I said to the children, “Quiet down, get low to the ground and do not let them see you! ” The kids were extremely frightened, but there was no time to freeze with fear. I had to get out of there with my family as soon as possible. I knew they would find their way inside the home in a matter of minutes; so I quickly grabbed some weapons, knifes, bats, and anything sharp or hard I could find | my surrounding. There were a few items valuable to me that I did not want to leave behind, but most of those items had to be left. There was only time for the bare necessities.
In this case, our cell phones, chargers, and a couple changes of clothes. Once those were packed I wanted to retrieve some food and water in case we would be unable to access these things for an extended period of time. As I was done with my second round of packing up the car to return to the house for the final items that were needed I heard a loud crash. Could it be? Were they inside already? I wasn’t sure but I couldn’t risk leaving without any food or water. Thad a car full of children who will need sustenance. I said to the kids, “Lay low on the floor boards, and cover with a blanket, do ot make sound and do not look up out the window, they cannot see you in here. ”
After hiding the children I slowly made my way inside the house to get the last few items of necessities. I heard that deathly gurgling sound, I knew one had already made his way inside, which meant there were probably more than that already inside or on their way. I came into the hallway, snuck to my bathroom, and grabbed the cleaning sprays as my method of protection in case any one of them came to me. I knew the spray wouldn’t kill the monster, but it would hopefully detract it long enough for me to get away.
Once in the kitchen, I grabbed the biggest knife I could find and starting up packing up whatever non-perishable food items I could find. There was not enough time to collect the water that I had hoped for, but grabbed some water bottles to use for filling up water when the opportunity was near. Now that I had all that I could physically carry, it was time to make my way back. I had been lucky so far that I got through without any run-in with the zombies. But right as I turned the hallway corner to head back towards the garage, there it was dripping with phlegmy blood out of its mouth, frothing in the most horrendous manner.
There were no way that this creature was going to stop me five feet short of freeing myself and my children; so I took out the knife and jabbed it in the socket and next in the throat. This disturbed it enough to disoriented, which gave me enough time to run to the garage and start the car to get away. Right as I started the car, one jumped on the hood and two others were on the passenger side window banging to make their way inside. I reversed the car full speed and then escape running a few of them over as I went zero to sixty with no hesitation.
This experience is something I will remember the rest of my life. I will forever be affected. It’s important for us humans to know how serious this moment can be in our life. Listening to our heart and spirit is the best way to get away from this tragedy. Even though I went through this traumatic life, I felt the presence of our savior by my side. I’m proud that I was able to escape a situation that many of us wouldn’t have done because of the lack of courage. I was extremely thankful and believe that someone on the sky was looking over me.
