Young children loves exploring their environment and surrounding. Head Start is a time for exploring and learning. Most children entered Preschool or Head Start at the age of three. As they enter these programs, children learn various subjects. Learning letters and their sounds is a child important step with their educational journey. When children master letters, there on their way to learning sounds and sight words. First step with children learning letters is the alphabet song. As children entered Head Start and Preschool, teachers use this song as an educational guide. The alphabet song help children remember the words to the song but not recognizing the letters. The project I have chosen is called Twisted Phonic letter.

Twister Phonic will exposed the Head Start children to a wider vocabulary. According to Skibbe, “Preschool is a critical time for the development of foundational language and literacy skills, including oral language and vocabulary, phonological awareness, alphabet knowledge” (Skibbe, Lori E.1, skibbelo, Bindman, Samantha W.2Hindman, Annemarie H.3Aram, Dorit4Morrison, Frederick J.5, (2013, p. 1). Children who learn these skills for this project will enhance their ability to learn new words along with recognizing the alphabets. Children that start ahead, will stay ahead. My primary objective are for my children to understand the relationship between letters and sounds. Knowing these relationship will help children recognize the letters of the alphabets more correctly. First I will discuss my actions plans with the Head Start teachers to receive some input on what the children are learning at the present time.
