Personal Narrative: Seeing My Grandma Again Essay

Seeing my grandma again is always fun. The first couple of days with just my family in Florida were okay. On the way to Florida my mom told me that my cousins were coming to visit too right after they stop by Texas first to see their other grandma. I couldn’t understand why they would go all the way to Texas and then Florida in just a 2 week period. But I didn’t care I was still really excited to see them. Where I live I’m the only girl around. I have only 2 brothers. I’m surrounded by boy at my house and have been my whole life.

So when I heard that there are going to be girls around to hang out with girls on my vacation I got really excited. At first when my cousins arrived I didn’t know it was them because they had a rental car. They thought that their car that they have wouldn’t make it to both places at once. When everyone get settled in we all went to this little beach called Cocoa beach. My family and I have already been to cocoa beach last year and we were glad to go back. On the other hand my cousins have never been to Florida, this was their first year.

The water wasn’t that bad it was a little chilly because it was only 80 degrees when we got there but the weather was perfect for me. I thought this was funny my cousin Sammy was in the water next to me and every once in a while she would cover her ears with the hands cuffed over them or she would dunk her head under water. I was curious why she was doing that, she answered back “when my family lived in Texas I was about six or seven at this time and a bird flew over my head and I got bird droppings in my ears! ” after that I was crying of laughter. I could not hold it in.

The rest of the day was fine we all played a couple ater games and stuff like you know having family contests like who can swim the farthest in a certain amount of time stuff like that. Then we all packed up ready to go to my dad’s friend Kenny’s house but he was renting an apartment in Siesta Key all the way down by the Gulf of Mexico. We had to get up really early like 5:30 in the morning to go. I’m pretty sure that my cousins left that day too. This was the first time we have met Kenny and his daughters for all I remember of. My dad has mentioned him before to me about one of his daughters dance recital how she wanted me to go.

Both of Kenny’s daughters are dancers but one is now 18 years old her name is Gabby and the other is 10 years old whose name is Kelsie. Kelsie’s dance recital is the one she wanted me to go to so that she could meet me and hang out with me but this was years ago. I never went because we were doing something else instead. So on the way to Siesta Key we were all sleeping because it was a long drive and really early in the morning. When we got there it was about the middle of the day the sun was out and the sand was real. What I mean by the sand is real is it was pure white and soft and cold.

The sand by the lakes and beaches in Michigan is not real it doesn’t feel real or look real. We hung out with Kenny’s daughters and played a bunch of games such as, mother may I mafia, and tag etc. They are really nice and fun to hang out with too. Then we got ready to go because we had to leave the next morning to go home. We couldn’t spend the night there we had to go to a hotel because there wasn’t enough room for all of us to fit in that tiny apartment. So we stayed in the hotel ate breakfast that morning and went home. On the way back home I realized if you be nice and help out your parents a lot the favor will come back for you too.
