Youtube Informative Speech Essay

All humans are subject to express their own personal opinions on certain topics, whether it be relevant to the world or just specifically in their community; however, it is the content of what people share and the words in which they use that makes the difference between meaningful topics and irrelevant ones. In other words, one has to draw the line from purposeful discussions which form deeper knowledge in a person’s mind about the point of controversy and unnecessary videos that do not have a specific purpose.

For example, discussing if the environment schools create for growing students affects their creativity in a negative fashion helps open peoples’ perspectives, guiding them to think critically about a school’s teachings; this is oppose to an irrelevant idea a person may “blog” about that has limited to no impact on others or the world. The fact is, one must come to understand that people should focus their time more on topics that can be relatable to the modern world as it is, and not with unimportant subjects that have little effect on people in the long run.

However, some people may argue that even though some subjects are more important to society as a whole, others have to also see the impact that amusing videos can have on the general population. Whereas meaningful or inspiration videos have a huge impact on our daily lives, entertainment videos can also bring us to a different perspective. A multitude of these videos meant for personal entertainment can be found on the website YouTube, a site that provides the world with amusing videos which may not be positive to our minds: in other words, YouTube thrives on videos possessing entertainment value instead of meaningful information.

A site that provides our community with purposeful videos can be found in a site called Ted Talks, an organized website that people can share their ideas on life changing subjects regarding today’s society: Ted Talks also offers inspirational and personal speeches to watch. Ultimately, although YouTube contributes a sufficient amount of videos relating to entertainment as well as all-purpose use, Ted Talks provides the internet with well organized, impactful, and valid videos that the world can change their outlook on life with.

Numerous aspects of Ted Talks involving its powerful and moving presentations separate the functional cite from YouTube, a plethora of videos from inexperienced people which are mainly topics of entertainment rather than having an actual use. In fact, barely any of YouTube’s videos have any relation to factual evidence, instead focusing their films on entertainment subjects which have no effect on the lives of other people. Take for example a famous YouTuber who goes by the name of Nigahiga who posts videos such as “Proving the Illuminati is Real”, “The Ultimate Trick shot Dunk”, and so on and so forth.

The point of the matter is, these videos were not meant to be accurate, let alone reliable; they were instead made for the enjoyment of others who happen to have extra time on their hands, thus cruising the internet for videos they can laugh about. While the purpose of creating YouTube videos is simply for pleasure and relaxation, the source Ted Talks takes on a whole different genre of videos meant to inspire people with brisk, compelling speeches.

Evidently, one particular Ted Talk titled “The Journey through the Mind of an Artist” fixates on Dustin Yellin’s abstract way of thinking and seeing which paved the way for his mesmerizing art pieces; his conceptual ideas mixed well with the audience, and the crowd began to take a different look on the world, beginning to understand life in his way of thinking. In other words, the quick sharing of ideas that Dustin Yellin accomplished created a positive atmosphere the audience took up upon.

To conclude, although both Ted Talks and YouTube are videos that can aid people in a variety of fashions, the content that they include in their sites and the purposes used for the videos are what breaks these two sites apart. The term “effectiveness” can be used in many different contexts, from effective word searches to effective speaking that influences others: this is what ultimately drives Ted Talks to its admirable success, for they have the effectiveness to entice viewers into their videos unlike YouTube.

YouTube’s videos are as jumbled up as a needle in a haystack; certain videos are quite a nuisance to find, as there is an overload of unnecessary content that is uploaded every day. For example, trying to search up a specific video regarding a certain subject will lead one nowhere if they did not know to exact title of the video at hand. On the other side, Ted Talks provides views with a precise search engine that specifies topics, language, events, and duration to give the audience a definite and accurate search, leading them to the video intended.

Furthermore, Ted Talks is also effective with their physical speakers who are the people that share their ideas with the audience, and Ted Talk’s speeches provide effective information in the minimal period of time they possess. To validate this idea, whereas most speeches of any sort will ramble on regarding their topic, the average amount of time each person usually speaks in a Ted Talk is close to fifteen minutes long.

In this swift amount of time, presenters are able to get the gist of their idea while effectively capturing the audience with words of inspiration or factual evidence. In other words, the sophistication of Ted Talks is far greater than that of YouTube because of their effectiveness with search engines, organization, and public speakers, but that does not mean that YouTube is a “bad” site to search other subjects on.

In fact, many YouTube videos include Ted Talk videos because of the sheer amount of videos it contains; as long as the video one posts on YouTube is not directly pirated from the source or if they copyright the material, it is legal to use. All in all, Ted Talk’s effective speakers, time, and searches make for an altogether different personality or style than YouTube’s incompetent and unsophisticated ideas.

Essentially, Ted Talk is a site that discusses serious, worldly issues from the past to today while YouTube is the main source of entertainment for the common people, focusing on amusement rather than meaningful topics. Ted Talks provides effective speeches that leave an impact on an audience due to their comfortable public speakers, and their sophisticated search engines provides them with accurate videos whereas YouTube does not search with effectiveness and does not deliver accurate content.

Moreover. Ted Talk possesses educational videos that are positive to the human mind while only a certain few YouTube videos provide their viewers with academic films. Clearly, Ted Talk is a preferable site to search if one is looking for reliability, effectiveness in a variety of ways, capability, education, and sophistication: its ability to generate such an impact on others in a minimal amount of time is what separates Ted Talk to YouTube.

Not only can Ted Talk’s viewers benefit online from the site, but they can also relate these speeches into their daily lives, taking what they discovered from the video and changing their perspective on the world. If one by one others learn to incorporate the ideas they learn from not only Ted Talk, but other idea sharing sites, they can eventually lead the world to a new, fresh outlook on life.
