The Perfect Game

Many people play sports to have fun, but can every sport out there be considered fun to everyone? There are some who like football and hockey but can not stand baseball or basketball. There are also people who think quit the opposite. To separate different peoples interest, ask yourself the question, What would be the perfect sport? The perfect sport can include: excitement, action, physical fitness, talent, competitiveness, and enjoyment. There is only one sport that comes to mind when combining all these outstanding qualities. Hockey!! Hockey is a very popular sport that is now played all around the world.

Many sports oncentrate only on Americans and how great they are. That is not the case in hockey. There is scouting done all around the world from the United States, South America, Europe, Canada, all the way to Asia. However hockey is most popular in the United States, Europe, and Canada (Where hockey began). People want to see talent all around the world. In fact most of the talent played in the N. H. L (National Hockey League) are non-americans. Hockey’s greatest, Wayne Gretzsky, was a Canadian native. Sergei Fedorov, Paval Datsyuk, and Paval Bure are Russian natives.

Then you have Jeri Fisher, and Dominik Hasek from the Detroit Red Wings who are natives of the Chech Republic. Every Year the N. H. L competes in the Olympics, so that we as fans could see talent all around the world. This is a huge aspect of the game of hockey that you really do not see in most team sports. The demands of the game of hockey, along with a 82 game schedule really put a lot of pressure on the individual both physically and mentally. Even though players are on the ice for an average of a minute at a time, the workout is the most intense in professional sports. In order to be a good hockey player you must stay in shape.

During a game of hockey magine holding your breath a full minute and times that by 10. That is why you can only go out there for a minute because it is so intense. That is what a perfect sport should fulfill, a good workout. According to the science of hockey, during the average course of a game, a player can loose five to eight pounds. As you can see the game of hockey provides you with a combination of cardiovascular, muscular, and endurance properties. Even better, the aspect of skating putts on a adding emphasis of your lower body. Another great aspect of hockey is that it makes you work.

Hockey is one of the few sports here working together is important to overall success. When someone on your team scores, the whole team shares in on the excitement. You rely on others just as they rely on you. The friends you make in hockey last a lifetime. Your teammates grow with you and support you at all times, both in the rink and out. Every time you finish a game you get a sense of accomplishment, fun, and satisfaction. This motivates you to try your best each time and keep coming back for more. The only way to win in hockey is to work as a team, without a team you can not win.

This is what separates hockey from other sports. Hockey is not easy. Not only do you have to be a great skater and stick handler, but you also have to learn strategies and plays. The game of hockey requires so much skill and strategy that you can never learn everything about it. This is what makes you work harder at it. Mostly anyone could walk on a football field and run, or step on a basketball court and shoot a basketball. Not everyone can play hockey. You need to have the skills required to play hockey such as: Hand and eye coordination, Skating skills, Stick handling, and good health.

Last but not least, hockey is considered the most entertaining of all sports. It is illed with nothing but action and excitement. From hitting and fighting to the outstanding plays and goals, there is no doubt that this game keeps everyone on their feet. People now a days want to see some action not guys running up and down the court shooting basket after basket. In Hockey every move, play, and goal counts. Missing a minute of a hockey game is like reading a book and not finishing it. With a blink of an eye you could miss the best goal ever scored. That is what is so unique about the game, every goal is different in its own way.

Hockey is a very enduring game that keeps you on your toes every econd. This is a game played with pride and skill. You can feel a sense of accomplishment when playing hockey. This sport is found to fulfill every aspect of the idea of a perfect sport. Hockey is played all year around, Involves a lot of team work, and you can never learn everything about the game. There is no sport that is considered so exciting and entertaining then the game of hockey. Hockey is a sport of speed, finesse, and physical contact. These ingredients combined make this sport so unique and entertaining from the others. Hockey is a sport beyond perfect!
