We shouldn’t cancel the Olympics because all of the athletes have worked very hard to train for this event. The athletes have worked very hard to be selected and this may be the only time they would be selected, this could be their only chance. It would be difficult because they might not make it in the next Olympics they have in the next 4 years. I think that they shouldn’t close the Olympics because of their might be a terrorists strike, just think of all of those athletes who gave up their spare time to train like crazy, it would be a lot of hard work for nothing.
Also we shouldn’t cancel the Olympics because if we keep canceling event ike the Olympics because of terrorists scares it will make the terrorists think that they have complete control over us, and we might not be able to hold special events ever again. If we cancel the Olympics because of some terrorists, it will give them more power and it will make us civilians scared. They should just increase the security for the Olympics, like we should secure the air, water and land; they should also have detectors to detect bombs etc.
If we show the terrorists that we are not scared, they might stop their stupid ways. Can you think of how much money Athens has spent in preparing the Olympics? They have worked very hard to make sure the facilities are 100% working, and they have paid a lot of money to make sure that there is the best security. Athens has relied on many people to come to the Olympics and spend money. If we cancel the Olympics, Athens would be in debt. We shouldn’t let the terrorists scare us, we should continue with the Olympics.
All of the sponsors who have relied on sponsorship and they have made extra products to sell to tourist, they are relying tourist to spend money so they can buy their products. The sponsors have spent a lot of money just for Athens so they can make profit. If we cancel the Olympics some of the sponsors will maybe go broke because of us canceling the Olympics. I think we shouldn’t cancel the Olympics because of the sponsors might go broke.
In conclusion I would think that we shouldn’t close the Olympics because it would make the terrorists think that they are better. I think that we should beef up the security, and we would have no problems and everything will go according to plan. I believe that they should keep the Olympics in Athens in 2004 going, and we shouldn’t cancel the Olympics because of Terrorists scares. I think that we shouldn’t be scared of these terrorists.
