“Gatsby was a good man” referred Nick “It was society that destroyed him. Gatsby was a mysterious man. A hopeless romantic that had a “American Dream”, but never achieved it. Mrs. McKee said “Gatsby is the cousin or nephew of the Kaiser Wilhelm the emperor of Germany. The rumor spread that Gatsby killed a man. Nick did not know Gatsby at this time until the party. Nick meets Gatsby. Nick thought Jay was polite. Jay Gatsby doesn’t like to have fun or like his own parties. Nick feels sorry for Gatsby and thinks that he is lonely.
Jorden goes into Gatsbys study, sees the books and thinks that he is a fake, but the books are real. Jorden and Daisy are really good friends. Now, no one knows who Gatsby is. He is a big mystery. Gatsby picks up nick and tells him that he went to Oxford and the military. He also showed his medal. Gatsby introduces Nick to Wolveshiem. Nick wonders about Gatsby. Gatsby want to set up a meeting between Daisy and Nick, then he will drop by. Then Jay can meet Daisy. He meets Tom at the restaurant where Nick and Jay are at. He is nervous and afraid to meet Daisy.
Gatsby went to the arranged meeting between Nick and Daisy. Now his dream is complete. He is very nervous but really excited. He tries to impress Daisy with his material things. Daisy really doesn’t care. Jay is blind sighted. Gatsby tells his real story. Jay was born in North Dakota. His real name is James Gatz. When he was seventeen years of age he met Don Cody. Don Cody was a very rich man. He has a big yacht. James (at the time) admired Don for this. Tom and Daisy doesn’t like the party, it was in the west egg. Daisy want s to say that she doesn’t love Tom.
She makes everything set for Gatsbys dream. Jay Gatsby is really shocked when he saw Tom and Daisys daughter, Lil’ Pammy. Gatsby does not even like the thought of Daisys child with another man. Jay and Tom confront each other. Gatsby wants Daisy to say that he doesn’t love Tom, but Daisy loves them both. Tom reveals Jays crime life. Jay admits it. Jay loses the fight against Tom. Daisy stays with Tom. On the way home Daisy with Jay in the passenger seat hits Myrtle with Gatsbys car. Gatsby only cares about Daisys welfare. Jay Gatsby is obsessed with Daisy. Gatsby took the blame for Daisys “Hit & Run”.
Gatsby talks the truth about past relationship with Daisy. Nick feels that Gatsby is a fraud. Nick thinks that Gatsby and Daisy love each other. Wilson the husband of Myrtle shot Gatsby. Gatsby dies knowing that Daisy loved him. He died with his dream complete. Nick respected Gatsby greatly for telling the truth. Before he died Gatsby told Nick that he drove the car. Nick said to lay low for awhile. At Gatsbys funeral, nobody came but Mr. Gatz, (Jays Father) and Nick (His best friend). Gatsby really had no friends. Gatsby wasted his time on Daisy because she didn’t deserve the man Gatsby was.
