Dolly and her friends noticed prom was coming up. Although, Dolly had no one to go with yet she was still interested in going with this one guy named Carlos. He was an old school guy that dressed like a pachuco, Dolly loved that about him. Dolly and her friends gathered around the avenue,at their spot, right after school to discuss about the upcoming event. Dolly and her friends were undecided on going to prom or the upcoming kickback with the old veterans.
They discussed about it all night, but Dolly knew it was her last year, so she pulled girl, Kassandra, aside and explained to her how she wanted to go to prom since it was her last year and they could of done the kick back some other time. Kassandra told her she would see what she could do. She explained how the kickback was important not only because it was to have a good time but it was a meeting. Dolly thought about it and remained silent. Days later Kassandra told Dolly it would be fine with her going to prom, Kassanda knew Dolly would stay in an undecided decision and would want to go to the kick back because Carlos would go.
Although Dolly didn’t take it that way she went forward to going to prom and starting to look into where and how it would be, as well she decided on what she would wear on prom day. During school hours she asked various people if they knew where prom would occur. They gladly explained how it would take place at a Beautiful beach in Malibu. Kassandra reacted happily she knew Malibu had the best beaches with great evening skies. She knew the sunsets on the beach were more better than the one’s in The OC. The students continued saying how it would take place at the best ballroom named, le foyer ballroom.
They described the ballroom, on it having a huge floor ground, a tall ceiling,and how it has a huge chandelier hanging ,reflecting all the colors of it’s surroundings. As Dolly imagined herself there standing in a nice tight ,silky blue dress the students went back to what they were doing. Days passed, and it was the night before prom. Dolly was stuck at school thinking on who she was going to go with, since her friends were going to go to the kick back. Dolly was with Carlos since her friends were busy talking with the kick back. As Dolly and Carlos talked, Dolly mentioned how she was going to to to prom.
Carlos stood with surprise since she didn’t know she was going to go, he thought she was going to go to the kick back the next day. Carlos then asked who was she going to go with Dolly was quite confused and responded with, “ No one yet why? ” Little yet she didn’t know he was going to ask her to prom. Carlos reconsidered the question and responded, “ Never mind, don’t trip with what i was saying,” stuttering a bit. She insisted to im to her her, Carlos than finished off , “Okay okay okay, Will you go to prom with me ? ” Dolly was in shock she didn’t know he was gonna go.
She excitedly exclaimed, “Yes! ’ gave him a hug and walked away. Later that day she knew she had to get ready for the next day she went down to the best place in town, buying herself a silky blue dress under the white lights. She as well bought herself some nice back heels with white diamond necklace. That night she couldn’t sleep thinking about how prom was so near and who she was going with, a guy she was overly in love with, whom she’d fall face to heels with. The day of prom everything was going great,she woke up early to get ready, curled her hair and did her make up.
As she passed to her girl’s house to say her goodbyes and her friends to wish her luck , she saw Carlos coming down with a blue suit sort of matching her blue dress. Her friends looked at Carlos then looked at dolly they didn’t know what was going on. Carlos then looked at her and giggled making a joke, “Oh so i guess my ubers here,” they both laughed. Dolly was just there to say goodbye to her friends but she guessed Carlos needed a ride as well. Kassandra looked at Carlos and asked him, “Aren’t you going to the kick back. You have to go it’s an important meeting. That’s what The Big One said.
He responded, “No i’m not, I heard something was going to crack up. ” Kassandra and the rest of klica except Dolly laughed. Dolly and Carlos got upset and went on there way to the beach in Malibu to take some prom pictures. When getting there they right away got in line to take some perfect pictures but since there were so many students and two photographers, they went out to the pier to look at the sunset drop. Dolly noticed the sunset changing from blue to a nice red orange yellowish sky and how the blue greenish sea was turning red . She also noticed the penumbra of the sunset .
She wondered to herself why but then she recalled that in her physics class she learned how the blue from the sky lost its frequency which was absorbed by the atmosphere and all left were the lower frequencies of red and orange tones. Carlos looked at her while she thought, he can see her beautiful brown hazel eyes and how nice they reflected from the sunlight and how they shined even more since the sun was the white light to her eyes. They then walked backed to the line where it was shorter, they noticed the photographers were changing their camera ink various times.
Once they were up front to take the pictures, where a small built up room was built they walked in where some blue light and small red lights were placed, they smiled,looked at each other and then,click, the picture was taken. They then went into, Le Foyer Ballroom, where there pictures were going to be printed and handed to them. As they walked into the ballroom Dolly was amused by all the different colors of rhinestones she saw hanging from the chandelier, but little did she know it was all the colors being reflected from the light and its frequencies except the white light were being scattered.
As Carlos and her went to take a seat, there fotos were handed to them, dolly glanced down at the picture and looked at Carlos’s suit then at her dress. She confusedly said , “ Wasn’t the background red and blue not magenta,” Carlos quickly looked at the photo and tried remembering the little room. Dolly told him to look at the picture carefully as he did, he got confused he got up to tell the photographer that he had made a mistake, that his camera had ran out of ink.
The photographer than explained how the blue of the background with red spot lights were changed to magenta because red and blue spot lights turned into the color of magenta. He showed them his color wheel on how light sources work they were surprised that even on blue and green lighting turned the background yellow. As they walked back into the room and sat down Carlos locked at her neck and saw the her nice necklace. He told her how much she loved the colorful necklace she wore, she responded and told him it wasn’t colorful. It was just a diamond clear color.
She than told him to look at the chandelier and explained to him how that its colorful either it’s a clear crystal color but just that all lights were being reflecting and absorbed by it. As midnight came the last dance came they both got up and danced. Then the spotlight was put on them. The ones handling the lights first spotted them with a blue light than a red light making a magenta color, once they added the green light there spotlight was white. They both were amazed from experiencing light source mixture to how each one looked.
As Dolly’s phone kept ringing with electromagnetic waves , she didn’t hear a thing because they were mixing with the electromagnetic waves of the music playing. As the night ended Carlos and Dolly were exhausted. As they went home they noticed they noticed the block empty, they went down the street the kickback was at but noticed two black cars pass, “Holy S**,” one of them exclaimed it was a drive by shooting they braked, ducked down once they were gone the quickly got of the car and went to the house the kickback was at.
They noticed one of the guys,Paco, was unconscious they desperately tried getting him to stay awake but all he saw were colors dark colors of light. As Kassandra was screaming for Paco Dolly got out her phone to the paramedics but he insisted not to because he knew today’s meeting and kickback was going to bring him death and he wanted everyone to be there right before he died…
