In the literary sciences, the last edition of the book refers to the last edition of his works published in the lifetime of an author, which is approved, approved and therefore binding. The term is generally only applicable to texts.
Consequently, the final edition includes the complete works of an author, who are in the final state, as the latter desired them until his death. Of course, the output of the last hand can also mean a stand before the respective author left. For example, if the latter was hindered in the further treatment of the work by illness, and the present work nevertheless declined in its entirety and was found to be good.
Origin of output of last hand
The term was coined in accordance with Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s “Complete Edition l.H.”, which was approved by the poet between the years 1827 to 1830 itself.
But even if we are able to prove this by numerous lexicons, there is a previous proof in the literature of the last edition, which appears before Goethe’s name. That is, Christoph Martin Wieland’s “edition of the last hand” (1794-1802 / 11).
