The World Population

The world is a very small planet, as compared to the vastly massive planets such as Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus. However, our Earth is the only planet in this solar system with conceivable and obvious life. There are billions of humans on this earth. Billions of animals, plants and other things. While the earth was made to hold quite a bit of humanity, the world population continues to climb. Chinas population, for instance, increases exponentially every year, and it looks like the population of Earth will continue to climb.

While there are many, many people who believe the world is becoming a mass of humanity and that the earth is becoming overcrowded, I say there is no evident problem. According to a United States Census Bureau population count, an estimate of the total world population as of April 16, 1999, the number of humans on earth is 5,980,069,548. That is nearly 6 Billion humans. While you may think this number is way too high, you must understand that the earth is capable of holding much, much more. This is a fairly large earth, and there are areas of this planet which are yet to be discovered.

There are open plains, vast country sides, and plenty of space left for a much larger number of humans. I think the main reason that people are so worried about overpopulation is because there are so many people trying to live in the same places. For instance, big cities like New York, Los Angeles, and places like that. You can see pictures of the crowded streets and say, My goodness, there are way too many people on this planet, but you must realize something— these people are crowding into one small area, he reason I dont know, but its true.

The population of the world has climbed steadily over the past half century. And if it continues at this pace, the world is looking at a population of nearly 10 billion people in the year 2050. Now if this is to happen, I think its time to panic. However, right now there is no need to worry. There is so much open space for people to live, it is not necessary to panic. The world is a vast place, and if people would take advantage of this size, then there would be no apparent troubles in the way we live today.
