Have you ever wanted something so bad that once you have it you kind of sit back and reevaluate everything that just happened and you just need a small breather to take everything in? There’s just something about nature that takes my breath away and takes me to a different dimension. It makes feel so calm and so at ease with myself. It makes me feel joy just looking at the small things in life.
It makes me appreciate the smallest things, such as a beautiful sunflower growing in my backyard, and just sitting on my royal blue towel with flowers, that would remind you of Hawaii, on the sandy beach with my feet stretched out in front me staring into the ocean , while squinting my eyes due to the powerful sun rays, takes my breath away everytime I look back into the moment I went to Myrtle Beach. My bucket list is pretty extraordinary. For the most part it has more than a few things that are in everyone’s.
For example: surfing, going to the beach, skydiving, scuba diving, swimming with the dolphins, and plenty more that would get all 5 senses going and maybe bring your 6th sense out. My number 1 thing that I’ve always wanted to get accomplished since I was a little girl was to go to the beach. I have always been a huge fanatic of the beach; I always watched beach movies, and was fascinated by sharks, dolphins, surfing, sea shells, and starfishes. I always loved everything about the beach.
I desired to know the feeling of sand coming in contact with my feet and it squeezing between my toes as I ran towards prodigious waves crashing onto earth, making a soothing noise that comforted me into trying to hurdle them at the shore. I could just imagine myself on the beach all day and night. My lucky day came in the summer of 2015 when my parents decided to take me to Myrtle Beach. My imagination ran wild. I felt like a small kid finding out I was going to Disneyland. The day couldn’t come any sooner!
As I was packing, my mind was full of scenarios of what I imagined was going to happen. My wild imagination kept me wide awake all night knowing I had to be up at 5 a. m. , to make sure we arrived on time to catch our flight. I was smiling from ear to ear and couldn’t wipe off the smile. I was soon walking in the narrow hallway leading into the plane. It all felt so unreal. I soon took my seat and we were ready for take off. The loud noise of the plane reverberated inside. We were soon going 90+ mph and on our way into the beautiful sky full of fluffy white sheets.
It was a very smooth ride and the entire way to our destination I had my face pressed against the window just watching Nebraska getting smaller and smaller as my apparition of me on the beach grew bigger and bigger. I soon awoke from a nap that I had unintentionally taken on the plane and noticed we had arrived. As I got up and walked out of the plane and saw the rush of people trying to get to their next flights and the exposure of the towering skyscrapers looking through the windows, made everything seem even more real.
I couldn’t help my excitement and I just stood amazed staring through the windows. As soon as we got out of the airport, we saw my cousins in their black newly washed SUV. As they got out, the excitement of being reunited broke us all in tears of happiness. We soon got all the luggage cramped in the back like sardines. We were now heading to my cousins house and on the way there I took in the sight of the beautiful city of Charlotte, NC. Once we had arrived to my cousins’ house, we unpacked everything and settled in.
We spent quite a bit of time chattering and catching up with each other. Everyone was so festive it almost felt as if it was thanksgiving, as we sat around the table full of home cooked meals. Everyone was pleased to be able to sit around the table with some of the people we love the most. That night we went to bed early because we were all so exhausted. We also had a long day ahead of us. We were to get up early and get our best bathing suits on because we were going to drive 3 short hours to get to Myrtle Beach, SC.
We soon arrived and we were eager to get out and just start running through the beach. From the parking lot we could see the monstrous rides and the famous SkyWheel. My heart started beating rapidly. I couldn’t wrap my head around that I was finally actually at Myrtle Beach and could now cross that off my bucket list. Very first thing I did was run into the waves. I finally could feel the sand submerging in between my toes as I sprinted toward the white washed shore.
