“Everything was perfect until she came along mother,” I protested “Right? ” Drizella grumbled “Girls, girls calm down… wait, she is a disgrace isn’t she? ” my mother Iris confirmed. I took a sip of my lemon tea and screeched “OUCH… CINDERELLA!!! ” Cinderella stepped into the room, “Yes? ” “Get me some ice for my mouth, you made my tea scorching!!! ” I screamed. “Yes ma’am. ” Cinderella cowered. Ugh, she’s such a little wimp I thought.
Later that beautiful spring day, a knock disturbed my reading, I closed my book and staggered down the stairs to see mother at the door talking to a plump, rosy cheeked man, he handed her an envelope sealed with a wax stamp. Mother shut the door softly and held the letter in front of her squinted face. “This came from the Charming family themselves. ” She explained joyfully. Drizella ran from the kitchen, intercepting the letter and tore it open, her eyes grew twice their regular size.
“WE’VE BEEN INVITED TO THE ROYAL BALL, SO THE PRICE MAY CHOOSE HIS BRIDE!!! ” Drizella shrieked “Oh my god! I looked over at mother in disbelief, but something caught my eye behind her… it was Cinderella eavesdropping, I ignored her… but Drizella didn’t. “Mother, Cinderella was snooping around , and she’s not cleaning my bathroom floor! ” Drizella screamed in her high pitched voice. Mother jerked her head in Cinderella’s direction and gave her a dirty look and yelled, ‘’You shall not go to the ball! ” A sly smile grew across Drizella’s face. I looked at Cinderella as a tear ran down her face, she turned, and ran up the unsteady, wooden steps that led up to her small room.
I whipped around and glared at Drizella, who unfortunately is my sister. Later, we went upstairs to our rooms to pick out our dresses for the ball. Then, I heard a scream come from my sisters room. “Cinderella, get up here! ” Drizella screeched, “NOW! ” Moments later we heard light thumps outside of the door, then Cinderella stepped into the room gracefully. “Yes Drizella? ” Cinderella replied. “Look what you’ve done, you little rat! ” She wailed “there’s an ink stain on my dress that I was going to wear to the ball… the ball you’re not going to. ” she said in her most snobby tone possible.
Oh sorry ma’am” Cinderella replied with a sarcastic tone. “Excuse me, are you taking a tone with me.? ” She yelled back. Drizella got up, walked up to Cinderella and said inches from her face “if you ever talk to me like that ever again, i will make sure you regret it… Now…” She turned around and walked over to her desk and pulled a long piece of paper out of a drawer and said “Here this ought to keep you busy during the ball… Have fun. ” I looked at the piece of paper in Cinderella’s thin hand and it was a long, long list of chores, I have to say I kind of felt bad… I said kind of.
Cinderella shifted toward the door, she turned around and smiled at me… a shy smile. That night when mother and Drizella were sleeping, I crept out of my room and slithered across the kitchen floor towards the stairs that led to Cinderella’s bedroom, I don’t know why, i just felt the need to see her. I climbed the stairs very quietly, fearing my mother’s wrath. As I approached the bulky, dark door, a light shot out of the crack under the door. CINDERELLA WAS AWAKE, YES! I knocked on the door softly and then I heard “Oh i’m so sorry I didn’t hear you yell.
She replied, She sounded petrified, so I opened the door and smiled at her and said “don’t worry it’s just me. ” She looked at me in disbelief, she looked at me in total shock , it was amusing. “Anastasia? ” She said “what do you need madam? ” “Hey Cinderella, you don’t need to call me madam” I said, trying to use my most nurturing voice. Why are you being nice to me? ” Cinderella questioned calmly I sat there pondering her question, but replied “The real question is, why was I mean to you in the first place? ” All Cinderella did was smile, this time a happy smile
We sat there for hours talking about things we didn’t know about each other. But this surprised me very much. “Hey, did you know my name isn’t Cinderella, it’s Ella. ” she peeped shyly. I sat there in silence, scanning my brain for a reason, why didn’t I know her real name? “Wait… what, how did I not know this?! ” I asked, totally freaked out. “Well when my dad died and you guys came to live with me, your mom found me playing in the cinder after cleaning the fireplace… so she told you my name was Cinderella. ” Ella explained as she laughed. Wow, I am so pathetically stupid.
I reply with a snort. I start laughing hysterically, I think to myself “i’m so stupid. ” But then I hear the breakfast bell. Ella jumped up, and said “Duty calls. ” She says, totally drained of energy “See you at breakfast, Anastasia” she says excitedly. “Ok… but you can call me Ana. ” I say loving her already She smiles “thanks” she says Later while Drizella and Mother were getting ready for the day I snuck into the kitchen and started helping Ella make the biscuits for breakfast, we talked about the ball while kneading the dough and we came up with a plan.
We would get her to the ball. After we got finished with the biscuits, Mother came into the kitchen, “Where’s Anastasia? ” She grilled I ducked just in time… but I took the sack of flour down with me, it landed right on my head. She threw Ella the broom and said “You’re going to need that for that mess ‘Yes ma’am. ” Ella replied politely Iris closed the door softly, I popped up and started laughing hysterically as the flour poured off my head, hitting the floor and exploding into dust. Ella said in a soft, perky voice.
I haven’t laughed as much with anyone as I have with you. ” She said. I smiled at her. “Thanks, same with you. ” I whispered later, Ella ended up choosing a beautiful, purple, silk dress that hugged her tightly. Later that night when the ball was only minutes from starting, Mother, Drizella and I got into the carriage, but Drizella saying she forgot something… ya she forgot to torment Ella before we left, but found her in my dress instead. In the carriage, I was wondering “what was taking her so long”, something was telling me something was wrong, I ignored it.
Drizella came out… anxiety started to fill my chest, Drizella was smiling. I knew that look, she did something, and it wasn’t a good thing. As Drizella got into the carriage, she whispered to me, “Sorry, i just had to… deal with something” she said in an apologetic tone. “No no no no no n-” I started to frantically yell but interrupted. “What’s wrong dear? ” Mother questioned “Umm… nothing. ” I said quickly. “Okayyy? ” Mother said sounding unsure. Then the carriage took off, and the last thing I saw was Ella sobbing in the garden… I couldn’t help it, it just slipped out.
Mom, I think i’m gonna barf” I whispered. The girls screamed fearing the vomit would get on their dresses, long story short mother dropped me off at home and left right away. I quickly skipped to the garden and saw what Drizella had done, Ella’s dress was in silky shreds. I ran to her side and said,“Hey Ella I was just wondering if you wanted to come to the ball? ” I said casually with a giggle The sobbing stopped and she lifted her head up and smiled at me… but there was some damage. Ya the dress… but the mascara streaks. “Of course, Madam. She replied with a laugh.
I grabbed , my glass slippers, mascara, an extra carriage, and the dress, this dress was made with white, beautiful silk, it poured off her hips onto the floor. We were on our way. “Girls night out!!! ” We screeched in unison. The ride was bumpy and bounced us up and down. As we walked through the heavy doors to the ballroom, we heard the graceful music coming from every corner in the room. They were announcing names. “Drizella. ” Said a deep voice, echoing through the room. Drizella approached a young man... he prince and curtsied, but he was far too busy looking elsewhere… in our direction!!
He slowly cut through the crowd and approached us, looking deep into Ella’s eyes. Oh me gosh! The cutest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life JUST happened. The prince practically dragged her onto the dance floor and they started to slide across the floor gracefully. They were in love. They disappeared behind a heavy curtain. A few months later, Ella and Prince William announced their engagement, so I met up with Ella to congratulate her. That morning Ella and I were sitting by the castle’s big pond and she said… I have a HUGE question to ask, Will you be my Maid Of Honor? She blurted. “ OF COURSE I WILL. ”
I screamed. “Oh my gosh, thank you. ” She whispered in relief. “No, thank you. ” I replied. Now, I don’t want to get really deep into details… they had a beautiful wedding, and 8 months later Ella told me she was pregnant with a beautiful baby girl… Ana Charming, if you couldn’t tell, she was named after me, her proud, (favorite) aunt. To sum it up for me, I met Charming’s younger brother at the wedding, Tommy… “Even miracles take a little time. ” – Fairy Godmother
