Tyranny is guarded in many ways. What this will mean is that the Constitution will start a new era of government. The ways that the Constitution guard against tyranny is Federalism, Separation of power, Checks and balances, and lastly equal representation from all states. These are the ways that the Constitution guards against tyranny. One way that the Constitution guards against tyranny is Federalism.
According to document A states that the central government can have trade, have relations, and also declare war. The states can also set up local government, hold elections and establish schools. According to document A James Madison said”, The different governments will each other, and at the same time it will also be controlled by itself”.
What this means is that central and states government have enough power that they don’t control over other things. Also the central government has enough power to help to help some of the country’s major needs. From this you can conclude that dividing powers between the central and state government is a way that the constitution guards against tyranny. Checks and balances and separation of power really is another reason why the Constitution guards against tyranny.
According to document B”, Liberty requires that the great departments of power should be separate and distinct”. What this quote is trying to say is that the Legislative Branch should be completely different from the Executive or Judicial Branch because they each should not be the same. The different branches should also have different points of views from the other branch. This will prevent tyranny because it is splitting powers into three branches..
So according to document C”, The constant aim is to divide and arrange the several offices in such a manner as they may be a check on the other branches, and also should not be so far away as to have no control of each other. So what this basically means that the other branch should check on each other so that they all have equal power. This will prevent tyranny because the three branches will not let just one of the branches have all the power and control everything. So checks and balances and separation of power will guard from tyranny. Constitution guards us from tyranny by having equal power.
According to document D”, The number of representations shall not exceed one for every for thirty thousand, but each state shall at least have one representation”. So what this really means is that these laws are just to make sure the constitution are just to make sure that all the states have equal power. So they must all have equal power so that they can have a say in their government. The power of the people also matter because they have a say in a law so the law won’t have much power. This is another way that the Constitution guard against tyranny. There are a lot of ways that the constitution can guard against tyranny. As you saw the Constitution guards against tyranny by federalism separation of powers, checks and balances, and at the end equal representation of states. So because of those these we are still protected against tyranny. Hopefully this will last forever for our safety.
