Intelligent Design Research Paper

Albert Einstein once stated,”Everyone who is seriously involved in the pursuit of science becomes convinced that a spirit is manifest in the laws of the Universe—a spirit vastly superior to that of man, and one in the face of which we with our modest powers must feel humble. The scientists’ religious feeling takes form of a rapturous amazement at the harmony of natural law, which reveals an intelligence of such superiority that, compared with it, all the systematic thinking and acting of human beings is an utterly insignificant reflection. ” The point Mr.

Einstein is trying to make is that most serious scientist have looked into the topic of intelligent design and have come to the conclusion that there is an Intelligent Designer. There is so much compelling evidence that supports Intelligent Design, that it is almost unavoidable. Still, many scientists believe otherwise. I believe that this intricate universe was made by a super natural being for a purpose. Intelligent Design is the theory that life, or the universe, cannot have arisen by chance and was designed and created by some intelligent entity. Scientific evidence points undoubtedly toward the theory of Intelligent Design.

Everything in our galaxy was placed “just right” so that life could be sustainable. What if the earth was a closer or further to or from the sun? Life could no longer exist due to the fact we would all die from radiation and extraneous heat or get hypothermia and freeze to death. What if the percentage of oxygen was more or less? If the percentage of oxygen was more, sure, paper airplanes might be suspended in the air a little longer, we might be more alert, or we might get sick less often but, we would die younger due to the quickening of the aging process though Oxidative Stress, be much more flammable, and there would be humongous bugs.

Earth is a masterpiece of precision and design that could not have come into existence by chance. The intricacy of life is so complex, evolution is absolutely out of the question. The eye, for example is one of the more complex things in your body. Darwin stated that, “To suppose that the eye, with all its inimitable contrivances for adjusting the focus to different distances, for admitting different amounts of light, and for the correction of spherical and chromatic aberration, could have been formed by natural selection, seems, I freely confess, absurd in the highest degree possible. ” Why has man not made a robotic eye to aid the blind?

The answer is simply because the eye is beyond human comprehension. If the eye is past fallible apprehension, what in the body do scientists know or understand in depth? DNA is another thing that scientist are still learning about and it was the first computer ever created. DNA determines who you are, sends messages, makes copies of itself and does so much more than what our modern day computers can do. Proteins in the body are basically complicated molecules. They are made of a string of amino acids that are arranged in a precise way. Every one of the jobs that a protein does depends on the specific shape of that protein.

The arrangements of the DNA is also responsible for telling the cell how to construct the proteins. The fundamental mystery in life is the origin of information programmed to each intricate part of the body. The most logical answer is that of an Intelligent Designer. Earth requires an Intelligent Designer as much as the rest of space does. As you go back in time the curvature of space gets infinity tight. The Einstein field equations are a set of ten equations in Albert Einstein’s general theory of relativity that describes the fundamental interaction of gravitation as a result of space-time being curved by matter and energy.

Stephen Hawking was able to give an answer to Einstein’s theory. According to Hawking’s solution, not only is there a zero point in time, but there’s a zero point in space as well. If there was a zero point in space, it means there was nothing, zero, zilch, zippo! Something cannot come from nothing, which then leads to the fact there must be a Intelligent Being, intelligent enough to create things too complex for the human mind. Scientists have discovered that we have an expanding universe. Say we went back in time, what would we have? We have a beginning universe.

But not only is the universe expanding outward, it is accelerating in its rate of expansion. The universe is expanding at a very precisely calibrated rate. If it were going even a tiny bit faster, there would be no structure in the universe—no galaxies, no planets. If the rate were even a tiny bit slower, the gravitational force produced by matter would cause the universe to contract back onto itself. This also points back to the complexity of our universe. If there is a beginning, there must be something to cause the beginning—something that isn’t the universe itself.

The discovery of this finite universe upsets many physicists and astronomers. If you’re talking about the origin of space and time itself, then you need something that exists outside of space and time. The theory of the Big Bang doesn’t tell you what caused that first event. Many other theories that disprove the idea of an intelligent designer have one question that can be the counterexample to its conjecture. According to the oscillating universe idea, eventually the gravitational force produced by all the matter in the universe is going to cause a re-collapse.

Darwin’s theory was that if you go back far enough, you get to a single, common ancestry. This is the theory of Evolution. Darwin wrote a book, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. The title explains it all, Darwin was an extreme racist. Natural selection presupposes organisms that can copy themselves. The Origin of Species is a brilliant piece of scientific reasoning but was based on information that was incomplete. He wasn’t even a scientist. Charles Darwin was naturalist and geologist; he was no scientist.

He came up with his theory of evolution on a vacation while observing nature. Another theory is that of chance but, if you want to produce specific information, chance alone is not a very effective mechanism. What if one day you admire my new shiny, expensive, gold watch and I tell you that I got it from the sky? Then I proceed to explain by saying that the other day I stepped outside to get some fresh air when all of a sudden pieces of this particular watch fell out of the sky and self-assembled right before my eyes. This all occurred in the time span of ten seconds. You would look at me like I had two heads and laugh.

I would insist that this event occurred and go tell many others but get the same response. This is an example of the impossible probability that life could have assembled without the aid of an Intelligent Designer or Maker. The statistic of a day to day impossibility is 1/108 or 1/100,000,000. The statistic of certain scientific evaluation impossibilities is 1/1015 or 1/Quadrillion. The statistic of scientific law impossibilities is 1/1050 . These are all very small numbers or probabilities. Now, the probability of this particular watch, that works, with its particular pieces falling into place before my eyes within 10 seconds, is impossible.

If we test the law of gravity by dropping a ball every second and looking for the chance that it would NOT fall to the ground by dropping the ball 1020 times to prove our theory, it would take 1. 5 trillion years to do so. 1. 5 trillion years is 100x the age of the universe according to the Big Band theory. Dr. Michael Denton challenged Darwin’s idea of spontaneous generation of life by saying that the simplest cell that could possibly live and function would be 100 proteins coming together by sheer coincidence. The probability of which would be 102,000.

The statistical likelihood of getting 10,000 amino acids with L-sided links and 100,000 nucleotides with R-sided links is 1033,113. The statistical likelihood of a whole cell randomly assembling under the most ideal circumstances is 10100,000,000,000,000. If you were to write down a zero every second, it would take you 3,170 years to write down this number. These numbers are astonishingly enormous, but rightly so because the probability of spontaneous life is past impossible. Probability alone does not trigger awareness of design.

What triggers design is when you’ve got a really improbable event, which also conforms to an independently given pattern. In 1944, an experiment was conducted in the United States on 40 newborn infants to determine whether individuals could thrive alone on basic physiological needs without affection. Twenty newborn infants were housed in a special facility where they had caregivers who would go in to feed them, bathe them and change their diapers, but they would do nothing else. The caregivers had been instructed not to look at or touch the babies more than what was necessary, never communicating with them.

All their physical needs were attended to scrupulously and the environment was kept sterile, none of the babies becoming ill. The experiment was halted after four months, by which time, at least half of the babies had died at that point. At least two more died even after being rescued and brought into a more natural familial environment. There was no physiological cause for the babies’ deaths; they were all physically very healthy. Before each baby died, there was a period where they would stop verbalizing and trying to engage with their caregivers, generally stop moving, nor cry or even change expression; death would follow shortly.

The babies who had “given up” before being rescued, died in the same manner, even though they had been removed from the experimental conditions. If evolution was given a second chance, who taught the first person emotion, morals, ethics, or about their consciousness. Babies die from the lack of love and affection. It must be taught and displayed by the mother or parent. How did the first person know it was wrong to kill someone? If that being came up with the idea of moral and ethics, there is a chance that they could be wrong.

In humanity, there is always room for error. Wrong could be right and right could be wrong but its not. Therefore, scientific evidence points that there must be an Intelligent Designer to explain all the proof above. The complexity of our universe is so vast, space and the beginning of time so unexplainable, the information so incontestably true, that there must be an Intelligent Designer. Who is there to explain the absurd statistical impossibilities and the myth of emotion, ethics, morality, and consciousness? None other than an Intelligent Designer.
