“Bela Seshe” assignment

This is an assignment about the movie “Bela Seshe” that was shown to our class. We were asked to write a review about the movie. The objective of the paper is to, first- learn about the movie and then to relate the movie with our society and also with our sociology course. The outline of the paper includes- what is the movie about, the characters that take part in the movie. I will be talking about the four concepts from our text book, and will analysis the movie with that four concepts. And at the end of the paragraph there will be a conclusion part.

The movie ‘Bela Seshe’ was cast by many, among them Biswanath Majumdar, Aarti Majumdar are the main. In the movie they had three daughters and one son. The movie was about the two couple. Biswanath Majumdar decided to take divorce during their 50th anniversary from his wife. And decided to leave his daughters, son and their children too. Because, he thought that there is nothing else he can do now for his wife. He thought that they are too old to serve each other. Aarti was not independent at all, and not concern about the outside world- are also the reasons. The children’s also tried to stop him from getting divorce. But he refused them all and toke the matter to the court. The judge suggested them to think about the matter and told them to go for a vacation before taking the final decision. In the vacation, they came to know each other. They even did not know about what ones like or dislike, hobbies and many things. Biswanath children’s understood about the value of each other’s, they also came to know why communication is important for their married life. But at the end of the movie Biswanath Majumdar realized his mistake and backed to his own family. The movie teaches us that age does not matter at all, also having children and rising them is not the only responsibility in a family.

Sociological imagination is an empowering tool. It allows us to understand the larger picture and its meaning in our own lives.
